Kreidy is a security and geopolitical analyst specializing in freshwater governance, transboundary water diplomacy, and regional conflict resolution, with a particular focus on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Currently a PhD candidate in International Relations and Diplomacy, with a concentration in Strategy and International Security, she combines academic research with hands-on policy engagement across Lebanon, Jordan, and broader Euro-Mediterranean contexts.
She serves as both a Water Diplomacy Youth Ambassador and Communication and Advocacy Officer at Blue Peace Middle East, where she leads dialogue platforms, high-level workshops, and stakeholder coordination aimed at mitigating water-related tensions and fostering cross-border cooperation. Her work aligns with the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem (WEFE) Nexus, emphasizing sustainable governance, climate resilience, and the political dimensions of shared water resources.
Samar has represented Lebanon in key forums such as Stockholm World Water Week, the Regional Conference of Youth in MENA, and regional strategy sessions involving policymakers, environmental experts, and security practitioners. She has also contributed to international initiatives organized by IHE-Delft, Harvard Water Diplomacy Program, Cap-Net, and the UN System Staff College, focusing on international water law, integrated resource management, and conflict-sensitive negotiation.
With a background in international relations and diplomacy from the Islamic University of Lebanon and the Center for Diplomatic and Strategic Studies in Paris, she has previously worked with UNICEF Lebanon in digital crisis communication and humanitarian response, addressing public grievances and reputational risk in volatile environments.
