is a dedicated legal expert and human rights advocate, specializing in women’s and children’s rights, gender-based violence (GBV), and international humanitarian law (IHL). With a legal background rooted in the Lebanese justice system and enriched by international training, she combines litigation experience with frontline advocacy and social impact project design.

Holding a Master’s degree in Law Research and a Master’s in Strategic Studies from the Lebanese University, Yousra has worked as a trainee lawyer at United for Lebanon – Chalhoub Law Firm, where she handled diverse criminal and civil cases, with a focus on legal protection for vulnerable groups. Her work includes drafting legal claims, court representation, field coordination with NGOs, and direct legal counseling for survivors of abuse and marginalization.

She has led and participated in multiple projects targeting women, children, and LGBTQ+ communities, notably during her tenure as Lobbying and Advocacy Officer at Proud Lebanon and as a project manager for the ELDA Initiative in Germany and Lebanon. Her campaign “Quosti Quossa” focused on GBV prevention, community awareness, and legal empowerment, highlighting her leadership in grassroots mobilization.

Yousra has completed several specialized certifications, including training in community mediation (GIZ and USJ), GBV prevention (KAFA), and peaceful conflict resolution (Lebanese Army and Central Bank). She is also a graduate of the Inter-University Programme on International Criminal Law and Procedure, having participated in study visits to the ICC and STL in The Hague.

At Vidya Insight, Me. Omar contributes as a legal and social policy advisor, focusing on legal advocacy, rights-based mediation, and the design of child and gender protection strategies. Fluent in Arabic and English, she supports initiatives that bridge law, social justice, and institutional reform, ensuring that legal systems respond more effectively and equitably to the needs of women and children.
