His career spans command, operational planning, military education, and international defense cooperation, making him a prominent figure in the field of national defense, counterinsurgency, and strategic military training.
General Harfouche completed advanced military education at the French Armed Forces Joint War College in Paris, earning master’s degrees in both National Defense and High Military Studies. He also holds a Bachelor’s in Military Science from the Lebanese University and has completed elite training courses in the U.S., France, and Lebanon, including specialized instruction in urban warfare, weapons of mass destruction (WMD), counterterrorism, and special operations.
He held key leadership roles within the LAF, including Battalion Commander of the 52nd and 113th Mechanized Infantry Battalions, Chief of JANUS War Simulation Training Center, Deputy Director of Training, and Director of International Military Cooperation. As Senior Instructor at the LAF Command & Staff College, he taught courses in information operations, counterinsurgency (COIN), and operations in urban terrain (MOUT), shaping the doctrine and leadership of future officers.
Decorated with Lebanon’s highest honors—including the National Order of the Cedar (Commander rank) and multiple War and Valor Medals—General Harfouche is also a member of the U.S. Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies (NESA) Alumni Network, reflecting his international reach and credibility in strategic affairs.
