Brigadier General (PSC) Dr. Raymond Farhat

is a senior military strategist, academic, and geopolitical analyst with over three decades of distinguished service in the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and a profound academic background in international relations, strategy, and security studies. Commissioned into the LAF in 1993 as a Field Artillery officer, he has held pivotal leadership positions and earned numerous military commendations and decorations, including the National Order of the Cedar (Officer grade) and the Medal of Fighting Terrorism.

Dr. Farhat holds dual PhDs in History and Political Science from the Lebanese University, a Master’s in Defense Studies from King’s College London, a Master’s in Strategic Security Studies from the National Defense University (Washington, DC), and a CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership from the UK. His academic and strategic training is reinforced by multiple international military courses, including the Advanced Command and Staff Course in the UK and U.S. National Security Studies education at the National Defense University.

He serves as a professor and thesis advisor at multiple academic and military institutions, including the Lebanese University, Fouad Shehab Command and Staff College, Lebanese American University (LAU), and AUST, where he teaches courses in geopolitics, military history, strategic leadership, and international humanitarian law. He is also a core faculty member of the Joint Master’s Program in Strategic Studies between the Lebanese Army and the Lebanese University.

Dr. Farhat has published scholarly works in Arabic, including the books "Maronites in Jabal Amel" and "The Russian Policy in Ukraine and the Arctic: A Tool of Balance or a Strategy of Conflict", along with academic articles on Arctic geopolitics and international conflict scenarios.
